Kathmandu, 27 July: The commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Friday noon arrested DSP Mr. Tejendra Paudel. He was chief at Metropolitan police circle office of Thankot during taking a bribe of Rs. 35,000 from a scrap dealer.
According to the Mr. Shreedhar Sapkota, spokesperson at commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), DSP Tejendra was arrested upon a complaint by the scrap dealer. Paudel demanded Rs. 35,000 for a truck carrying scrap to departure the valley; the scrap daler has informed the CIAA.
According to the agreement between paudel and dealer, Paudel came to Kalanki at 5:30 PM to obtain the money. CIAA generals caught him red handed on the spot during taking the money. SSP Mr. Hemanta Bahadur Paal, speaker at Metropolitan Police Commissioner Office fixed the arrest and informed paudel was arrested in the charge of “Corruption”. The CIAA is investing the paudel case. If he found guilty, he will be suspended from post & further action will take according the legal provision.
