Xavier teacher arrested over student's death

Kathmandu, 7 Dec: The Police today exhaustive discipline in charge of Lazimpat-based Xavier Academy of Prakash Shrestha for inquisitive, 3 days after a student committed sucide. Suskin Gaire, a 12th grader at the school had committed suicide on Wednesday night. According to his classmates, Gaire killed himself after Shrestha threatened him to expel him from the college and call his fathers after he was caught smoking.

Gaire was found death in his home after returning from the college. ‘We have arrested Shrestha for his inquisitive as well as for his security’ said spokesman for the Metropolitan Police Commissioner’s Office, SSP Hemant Pal referring to ongoing protests in the school after the incident.

We are inspecting whether he had given any such threat to Gaire. The furious school students had destroyed college vehicles in protest. Police have also arrested two students for their participation in damage. The students today protested outside Hanuman Dokha Police Office, demanding a inquiry into the case and release of the arrested students. The school has been closed since yesterday.
