Sinkholes giving sinking feeling to Armala locals

Pokhara, 10 Dec: Several families of Armala and ThulibesiPhant in kaski are living in continual fear. The sinkholes that on-going to appear in the area few weeks ago have spread terror among the locals. The phenomenon which was first occurred on 12 Nov has occurred at over five dozen places destroying about 1500 ropanis of arable land so far.

Himal Acharya is a shopkeeper in Pokhara, says he is scared of a sinkhole that would swallow his two storey house that he built by putting his whole life saving. About fifty families have been sleeping at their relative’s house as the sinkholes continue to appear in Thulibesi Phant.

According to the VDC secretary Ramchandra Poudel, 13 families have abandoned their houses after buildings collapsed at several places in Armala. The remaining families are in dilemma whether to leave or stay.
The disaster has affected real estate investors the most who had invested millions of rupees in plotting the lands. 

Ram Prasad Parajulee said, this is the first time we have heard or seen a huge disaster. The local people of Armala believed that the reason behind sinkhole is Nag (snake) watch below video for more information.
