ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier: Nepal pull off famous win against Kenya

Kathmandu, 16 Nov: Nepal have pulled off a mighty chase against Kenya beating them by 6 wickets in last over in their 2nd match at “ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier” played in Dubai on Saturday. Nepali skipper Mr. Paras Khadka scored an undefeated 54 runs in 31 balls with four sixes and three fours and scripted a memorable win for the Himalayan nation.

The opener Mr. Subash Khakurel also made a handy 54 before returning back to the pavilion. Sarad Vesakar’s breezy knock of 23 runs from the just 6 balls turned out to be the difference between the 2 sides in the closely fought contest. He hits three sixes.
Today win against Kenya who has earlier made it to the semi-finals of the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2003 will further embolden Nepal, their chances of making it to the Twenty20 World Cup to be played in Bangladesh next year.

In a game played at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai Today, Nepal had earlier won the toss and selected to the field first. Nepali bowlers started off well picking up 4 wickets when Kenya had scored just 32 runs on the board.

However the onslaught from RR Patel who scored a 44-ball hundred and disturbed the rhythm of Nepali bowlers as they ended up conceding 182 runs in the stipulated 20 overs.
